THE ROOTS OF THE PROJECT

Two key aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (https://sdgs.un.org/goals) defined by United Nations are to protect, restore and promote use of terrestrial ecosystems, and to ensure inclusive and equitable quality of education (goals 4 & 17).

Motivated by these goals and aiming to make them concrete, within the ImpactExplorer CloudRoots Education project we seek to take the fundamental research carried out in CloudRoots https://cloudroots.wur.nl/ and transfer its knowledge to local Amazonian School communities with pupils from 3 to 16 years old.

Our educative materials aim to illustrate the many synergies between the rainforest and the atmosphere, and to create awareness of how the Amazonian ecosystem functions.
